Riding Bike With Gun In Hand: Cops Release New Images Of Patna Hospital Shooters

New CCTV footage has emerged in the brazen Patna hospital shooting case, showing one of the assailants brandishing a gun while fleeing on a motorcycle. The visuals were released by police on Friday as they intensified their manhunt for the killers of Chandan Mishra, a murder accused who was shot dead inside the busy Paras HMRI Hospital on Thursday.

The footage, captured near the hospital premises, shows the attackers making their escape, with one of them openly wielding a firearm. Police are analyzing the visuals frame by frame to identify all the individuals involved and trace their escape route.

The shocking incident unfolded on Thursday morning when a group of five armed men stormed the hospital lobby and opened fire, specifically targeting Chandan Mishra. Mishra, a resident of Buxar district with several criminal cases against him, was at the hospital for medical treatment while out on parole. He was killed on the spot.

Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma confirmed that the murder was the result of a gang rivalry. “Chandan was on parole and admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment. The rival gang shot him… We are identifying the members of the rival gang. We have the photographs of the shooters,” he said.

Police have arrested one of the attackers and identified the others, with initial investigations suggesting they are linked to a local real estate firm with prior criminal involvement. Another video that went viral on Thursday showed the gunmen entering the hospital lobby moments before the shooting.

The incident has sparked serious concerns over public safety in the state capital. It comes just days after another criminal, Suraj Kumar, was injured in a police encounter in Patna’s Ranitalab area, highlighting what locals describe as growing gang rivalries and unchecked street violence.
