Ranveer Allahbadia & Ashish Chanchlani Spotted at Mumbai Cyber Office After India’s Got Latent Controversy
Navi Mumbai, February 24, 2025 – YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, made his first public appearance since the explosive India’s Got Latent controversy rocked social media. On Monday, he was spotted at the Maharashtra Cyber Cell headquarters in Navi Mumbai, accompanied by fellow YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani. Both arrived to record their statements in connection with the legal fallout from the now-deleted YouTube show hosted by comedian Samay Raina.
The controversy erupted earlier this month when Allahbadia’s remarks about parents and sex during an episode of India’s Got Latent went viral, triggering widespread outrage. The episode, which also featured creators like Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid) and Jaspreet Singh, was slammed for being offensive. Facing intense backlash, Raina pulled all episodes from YouTube, while Allahbadia issued a public apology, calling his comments “insensitive.” Despite this, the storm grew, with FIRs filed against him in Maharashtra and Assam, and the issue even reaching Parliament.
The Maharashtra Cyber Cell confirmed to ANI that both Allahbadia and Chanchlani reached out to officials, expressing their intent to cooperate. “We’ve sent summons for them to record their statements today,” the agency stated. This marks a turning point after weeks of Allahbadia being unreachable, with police previously reporting his phone off and home locked. The National Commission for Women (NCW) had also summoned the group for a February 17 hearing, but rescheduled it to March after they cited safety concerns and scheduling conflicts.
The Supreme Court stepped in on February 18, granting Allahbadia interim protection from arrest but didn’t hold back criticism. Justice Surya Kant called his remarks “vulgar” and a reflection of a “dirty mind,” questioning why such individuals should be entertained by the court. “You’re insulting parents,” he added, underscoring the societal shame sparked by the episode.
