Ranveer Allahbadia Backs Samay Raina, Says ‘Picture Abhi Baaki Hai’ Amid Controversy
Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia reaffirmed his support for Samay Raina and fellow panellists amid the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy, saying the group has grown stronger together.
In an Instagram ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Wednesday, Ranveer Allahbadia responded to queries regarding his relationship with comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina. Ranveer, who co-judged the controversial show India’s Got Latent with Samay, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija, said the controversy had brought the team closer.
“Samay will be back. All of us have gotten closer after the events. Stand by each other in good times as well as in bad times,” he wrote, calling Samay “already a media legend.” He also added, “Love you Ashish Chanchlani & The Rebel Kid as well. Picture abhi baaki hai.”
A screenshot of the post was widely circulated on social media.
In another response during the Q&A session, Ranveer reflected on the personal toll the controversy had taken. “Lost: Health, money, opportunity, repute, mental health, peace, parents’ contentment and much more. Gained: Transformation, spiritual growth, toughness,” he wrote, adding, “Will slowly work towards getting back everything that’s lost. Let the work speak.”
The controversy erupted earlier this year when an episode of India’s Got Latent drew public ire over an inappropriate question asked by Ranveer to a contestant, sparking accusations of insensitivity and poor taste.
The backlash led to the temporary suspension of the podcast and a wave of criticism against the panellists. In his recent return episode, Ranveer addressed the issue in a conversation with actor Emraan Hashmi, acknowledging the mistake and promising a more mindful approach going forward.
Ranveer has since resumed podcasting and is focusing on personal and professional growth. His recent social media activity suggests continued solidarity with his co-hosts and a gradual re-engagement with his audience. No official statement has been released regarding a new season of India’s Got Latent.
