Ranveer Allahbadia Deletes Instagram Post Addressed to ‘Pakistani Brothers and Sisters’ After Backlash
YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia deleted an Instagram post addressing “Pakistani brothers and sisters” following public backlash amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
Popular influencer and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, deleted a social media post that expressed a message of peace to Pakistani citizens. The post came during India’s Operation Sindoor, a military campaign launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Allahbadia’s post began with a disclaimer: “I will get hate from many Indians for this, but it’s important to be said.” He acknowledged the controversial nature of his message and called for understanding between citizens of both nations.
However, his statement was not well received. Social media users accused him of “insulting the Indian armed forces” and “spreading hypocrisy.” Several prominent handles posted screenshots of the now-deleted story, calling it “tone-deaf” and “a disgrace.”
A portion of his now-deleted post read, “Just like many Indians, I don’t have hate in my heart for you… Many of us want peace.” He blamed both Indian and Pakistani media for “spreading lies” and emphasized that his problem was with the Pakistani military and ISI, not its citizens.
He concluded by saying, “This is not: ‘Indian People vs Pakistani People’. This is: ‘India vs Pakistani Military & ISI’. Hope peace prevails in the long term, Inshallah,” followed by emojis of both nations’ flags.
Critics said the timing of the post was “insensitive” and questioned whether Allahbadia understood the gravity of India’s loss in Pahalgam, where 26 people, including tourists and a foreign national, were killed.
The controversy followed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. On Saturday evening, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) from both sides agreed to halt all military actions across land, sea, and air.
Despite the diplomatic announcement, Pakistan reportedly violated the ceasefire within three hours with shelling along the border and drone sightings. Indian forces intercepted and shot down at least four drones near key defence zones, sources said.
As of now, Ranveer Allahbadia has not issued any formal clarification after deleting the post. Known for his wellness and motivational content, Allahbadia had previously faced criticism for an inappropriate joke involving parents.
The incident reignited the debate around influencer responsibility and national sentiment, especially during sensitive geopolitical situations.
With Operation Sindoor ongoing and political debate escalating, social media figures are under greater scrutiny. It remains to be seen whether Allahbadia will address the backlash publicly or adopt a more cautious tone going forward.
