‘I’m Not Running Away’ Ranveer Allahbadia Says He Is Getting Death Threats After Controversy Over Offensive Remarks

In a dramatic turn of events, popular podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his YouTube channel ‘BeerBiceps’, has publicly stated that he and his family are receiving death threats following his controversial remarks on the now-deleted show ‘India’s Got Latent’. Allahbadia issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging the insensitivity of his comments and expressing his intent to cooperate with the ongoing investigations.

In his Instagram post, Allahbadia shared his fears, stating that individuals have even approached his mother’s clinic under false pretenses. Despite the threats, he emphasized his commitment to facing the situation head-on, expressing trust in India’s legal system.

Allahbadia’s comments, which involved discussing “sex with parents” in a comedic context, led to widespread outrage. This resulted in multiple complaints and a legal probe by both Mumbai and Assam police. Despite being summoned to the Khar police station for questioning, Allahbadia did not appear, leading to a second summons. His request to have his statement recorded at home was denied.

Teams from both states visited Allahbadia’s residence in Versova, Mumbai, but found it locked. The police are now intensifying their efforts, with Mumbai police having already recorded statements from several individuals connected to the show, including co-panelists and the video editor. The Maharashtra Cyber Department has also expanded the investigation by summoning numerous participants from ‘India’s Got Latent’.

The legal scrutiny extends beyond Mumbai, with a case in Guwahati naming Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and other personalities like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija for promoting obscenity. The collaboration between Mumbai and Assam police, along with the cyber department, indicates a thorough investigation into the matter.
