2 Indian Nationals Killed in Dubai Bakery Attack by Pakistani National; One Injured

Two Indian workers from Telangana were killed and one injured in a violent attack at a Dubai bakery on April 11, allegedly carried out by a Pakistani man.

The victims, identified as Ashtapu Premsagar from Nirmal district and Srinivas from Nizamabad, were working at Modern Bakery LLC when they were attacked by a Pakistani national wielding a sword and allegedly shouting religious slogans. A third Indian national, Sagar, sustained injuries and is being treated in a Dubai hospital.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy confirmed the deaths on Tuesday and stated that the Indian government is working with UAE authorities for the swift repatriation of the bodies.

Premsagar’s uncle told the media that the 35-year-old had been working in Dubai for five years and last visited his family two years ago. He is survived by his wife and two children. “We urge the government to help bring his body home,” said the uncle.

Sagar’s wife also confirmed that her husband had been hospitalized after the attack and is currently receiving treatment.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy posted on X, “Deeply shocked by the brutal killing of two Telugu youth from Telangana… Spoke to Hon’ble External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar ji on the matter and he has assured full support to the bereaved families.”

Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar also expressed grief and said that both the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian consulate in Dubai are actively working on the case.

“The Dubai Police have been urged to expedite the legal process,” Kumar said, while thanking the MEA for its swift response.

The attack took place during working hours at the bakery. According to reports from local authorities, the Pakistani assailant entered the premises with a sword and targeted the Indian workers. The motive remains under investigation by Dubai Police.

The Ministry of External Affairs is working with UAE authorities to repatriate the mortal remains of the victims and ensure that justice is served swiftly.

“We are extending all necessary support for the early repatriation of the victims and stand firmly with their families in this hour of grief,” Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar said.
