At least 20 people were killed and several others critically injured after a private bus carrying 57 passengers suddenly burst into flames near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on Tuesday evening. The moving bus, en route to Jodhpur, was engulfed in fire, trapping many passengers inside in a horrific tragedy.Police have confirmed 20 fatalities in the incident. The injured were immediately rushed to Jawahar Hospital in Jaisalmer, while those with severe burns were transferred to Jodhpur for specialized treatment.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the devastating fire.Eyewitnesses reported that local residents and passers-by near the War Museum, where the incident occurred, rushed to the scene to help pull trapped passengers from the burning vehicle even before emergency services arrived. Fire engines and police were alerted and quickly began rescue and relief operations.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited the accident site to review the situation. He expressed his gratitude to Army personnel and local residents for their swift assistance in the rescue efforts. “The incident of the bus catching fire in Jaisalmer is extremely tragic. I express my heartfelt condolences to the citizens affected by this unfortunate accident,” the Chief Minister said.
