In a distressing turn of events, another suicide has rocked Bengaluru, this time involving a police constable. HC Thippanna, a 34-year-old Head Constable from the Hulimavu Traffic Police Station, took his own life on Friday night. This incident comes just days after the widely reported suicide of engineer Atul Subhash, who also blamed harassment by his wife and her family.

Cop Blames Wife and In-Laws in Suicide Note

Thippanna’s suicide occurred on the railway tracks between Heelalige Railway Station and Carmelaram Husaguru Railway Gate. A suicide note left behind by the constable explicitly blames his wife and father-in-law, Yamunappa, for driving him to this extreme step. He detailed alleged threats and verbal abuse, including a specific incident where his father-in-law reportedly told him to die.

This tragic event echoes the recent suicide of Atul Subhash, an engineer working in Bengaluru. Subhash recorded a lengthy video and left a 24-page note detailing alleged harassment by his wife and her family. These two cases within a single week highlight a disturbing trend and raise serious concerns about the prevalence of domestic issues and their devastating consequences.

Investigation Underway

The Byappanahalli Railway Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into Thippanna’s death. The case is registered under Sections 108, 351(3), and 352 of the BNS. The investigation will likely focus on the claims made in Thippanna’s suicide note and the alleged interactions with his wife and father-in-law.

A Growing Concern: Domestic Issues and Suicide

These two recent suicides in Bengaluru underscore the urgent need for greater awareness and support systems related to domestic issues and mental health. The tragic loss of these two men highlights the devastating impact of alleged harassment and abuse within families. It is crucial to provide resources and support for individuals facing such challenges and to encourage open conversations about mental health and domestic struggles.
