Amit Shah Lauds Operation Sindoor, Says Pakistan in ‘Panic Mode’ After Strikes
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday hailed Operation Sindoor as a major success, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has responded forcefully to Pakistan-backed terrorism, pushing Islamabad into “panic mode.”
Speaking at a public event in Gandhinagar, Shah praised the Indian Armed Forces for launching precise strikes on terror camps deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), following the deadly Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
“Under Operation Sindoor, terror headquarters like those of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba were destroyed. We struck 100 km inside Pakistan,” Shah said, highlighting the magnitude and precision of the Indian response.
He added, “PM Modi has consistently responded to terror with unmatched resolve. From Uri to Pulwama to now Pahalgam, the message is clear — India will not tolerate terrorism.”
According to official sources, the Indian Air Force executed strikes on 21 terror sites across nine locations — four in Pakistan and five in PoK — in a tightly coordinated 24-minute operation.
Among the high-impact targets were bases at Rafiqui, Murid, Nur Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian. Air bases in Skardu, Bholari, Jacobabad, and Sargodha reportedly suffered extensive damage.
The strikes killed several key figures, including 10 family members of JeM chief Masood Azhar and four of his top aides, officials claimed.
Shah also commended the Indian air defence system for thwarting Pakistani retaliatory efforts.
“When Pakistan dared to attack the western border, not a single missile or drone reached Indian soil. We neutralised their capability by targeting 15 air bases. Civilians were not harmed, but the military infrastructure was dismantled,” he said.
Sending a clear message to terror outfits, Shah warned, “If any terrorist activity harms Indian citizens, the response will be twice as strong.”
He also stressed that those planning attacks from camps in Sialkot and elsewhere have now received “a clear message” through the echoes of Indian bombs.
Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 civilian lives. Intelligence reports had linked the attack to terror camps in Pakistan’s Punjab province and PoK.
The Indian government authorized precision airstrikes to eliminate those camps and cripple their operational capacities. The operation marked one of the deepest cross-border strikes by Indian forces in recent history.
