Another Terrorists House Blows Up in Massive Crackdown After Pahalgam Attack

In a major crackdown following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has demolished the houses of seven terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, sending a stern message of zero tolerance.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has intensified its operations against terrorists following the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. As part of the action, houses belonging to active terrorists have been demolished across multiple districts including Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Kupwara.

Officials confirmed that the residences of seven terrorists, some currently active and others operating from Pakistan, were blown up using explosives. The move marks a significant shift towards a hardline approach in tackling terrorism in the Union Territory.

On Friday, security forces demolished the houses of two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives — Adnan Safi Dar and Farooq Ahmed Tadwa — in Shopian and Kupwara respectively. Dar, associated with the LeT’s offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF) since 2024, was still active in Kashmir.

In Daramdora, Shopian, the house of another terrorist, Amir Nazir, was demolished. Meanwhile, the residences of Adil Ahmad Thokar, Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh, Asif Ahmad Sheikh, Shahid Ahmad Kuttay, and Zahid Ahmad Ganie were also razed earlier this week.

Sources said that the crackdown is part of the Centre’s “zero-tolerance” policy against terrorism, aiming to dismantle the support ecosystem for terror groups operating in the Valley.

Security forces have launched a large-scale manhunt across Jammu and Kashmir to trace the terrorists behind the Pahalgam massacre.
Authorities released sketches of three suspected terrorists — Hashim Musa alias Sulaiman, Ali Bhai alias Talha Bhai (both Pakistani nationals), and Adil Hussain Thokar, a local militant.

“All three have been identified as Lashkar operatives and are directly linked to the brutal killing of innocent tourists,” a senior police official said.

The demolition of properties belonging to active terrorists is seen as a warning to both militants and their sympathizers.
Officials added that Farooq Ahmed Tadwa, whose house was among those destroyed, is currently based in Pakistan and has played a significant role in orchestrating violence in the Valley.

Security agencies believe these strong measures will act as a deterrent against harboring terrorists and providing them logistical support.

On April 22, heavily armed militants ambushed a group of tourists in Kashmir’s scenic Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, resulting in the deaths of 26 civilians. The attack shocked the nation and drew condemnation from across the world.

Since the attack, there has been a sharp rise in security checks, operational raids, and targeted crackdowns aimed at rooting out terror modules across Kashmir.

A senior Jammu and Kashmir administration official confirmed that the crackdown will continue “unabated” until all perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack are apprehended or neutralized.

“We are committed to delivering justice to the victims of Pahalgam. Every person directly or indirectly involved will face the full force of the law,” the official said.
