Bengaluru Man Kills Girlfriend in Goa After Taking Her There to Marry

A 22-year-old man from Bengaluru has been arrested for the brutal murder of his girlfriend in Goa, where the couple had traveled with plans to get married. The tragic incident ended in the woman’s death after a dispute between the pair, highlighting the dark reality of domestic violence in intimate relationships.

South Goa police arrested Sanjay Kevin M, a resident of North Bengaluru, for the alleged murder of his girlfriend Roshni Moses M, also 22 and from the same locality. The victim’s body was discovered with her throat slit in a forested area of Pratap Nagar on Monday evening.

The couple had recently arrived in Goa from Bengaluru with the intention of getting married. However, according to police sources, a dispute arose between them for unknown reasons, which escalated into the fatal attack. After committing the crime, Sanjay allegedly fled back to Bengaluru.

Police suspect the murder was the result of a relationship dispute, and Kevin was arrested and questioned within 24 hours of the crime being discovered. The swift police action led to his capture before he could evade justice.

Superintendent of Police (South Goa) Tikam Singh Verma, who visited the crime scene after the body was discovered, provided crucial details about the motive. “This murder was the result of a love affair, a marriage proposal and the dispute that arose from it,” Verma stated during the investigation.

The murder came to light on Monday evening when local authorities found Roshni’s body in the dense forest area of Pratap Nagar in South Goa. Police confirmed that her throat had been slit, indicating the brutal nature of the attack.

Following the discovery of the body, police launched an immediate investigation and received leads pointing to Sanjay as the prime suspect. The investigation team worked around the clock to trace his movements and apprehend him.

Police sources revealed that the couple had arrived in Goa recently with wedding plans. “They came to Goa from Bengaluru to get married. But due to some unknown reason, there was a dispute between the two and two days ago Sanjay killed Roshni and threw the body in the forest,” police officials explained.

The investigation revealed that after committing the murder, Sanjay attempted to cover up the crime by disposing of the body in the forested area before fleeing to Karnataka. His quick return to Bengaluru suggests he may have hoped to avoid detection by distancing himself from the crime scene.

Police officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that they are working to understand the complete sequence of events that led to the murder.
