Bomb Threat Disrupt Delhi Schools Again
Delhi faced yet another unsettling incident on December 13, 2024, as multiple schools, including Bhatnagar International in Paschim Vihar, Cambridge in Srinivas Puri, and DPS Amar Colony, received bomb threat emails. This marks the second such occurrence within a week, intensifying concerns about school security.
The threats, reported early in the morning, triggered an immediate response from police, fire departments, and bomb squads. The first alert was received at 4:21 am for Bhatnagar International School, followed by Cambridge School at 6:23 am and DPS Amar Colony at 6:35 am. Although thorough searches uncovered no suspicious items, the emails claimed that explosives were planted and could detonate during school activities.
This incident follows similar threats on December 9, when nearly 44 schools across Delhi received bomb threat emails, all of which were later deemed hoaxes. Authorities suspect these threats are part of a pattern aimed at creating public alarm. Investigations revealed that the recent emails were sent via a VPN, complicating the tracing process. These hoaxes have targeted schools, colleges, and hospitals over the past months.
While no real danger has been identified, these incidents have disrupted daily routines and heightened anxiety among parents and students. School administrations have advised parents to remain vigilant and ensure children’s safety.
Delhi Police continue to investigate the threats, urging residents to report suspicious activities around school premises. Authorities emphasize the need for heightened security protocols to ensure the safety of students and staff.
