Delhi Shivers Under Cold Wave Dense Fog & Zero Visiblity Disrupts Flights
Delhi is currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures dropping to 7°C (45°F) and dense fog reducing visibility to zero in several areas. This has led to significant disruptions in flight and train operations.
The dense fog has impacted flight departures at Delhi Airport. While flights equipped with CAT III compliance can operate, passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates.
Several trains have been delayed across major railway stations in Delhi. This includes New Delhi Railway Station, Anand Vihar Terminus, and Hazrat Nizamuddin Station. The delays are due to the low visibility caused by the fog.
The air quality in Delhi has worsened, plunging into the ‘severe’ category. The Central Pollution Control Board reported an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 409 at 7 a.m., a sharp decline from the previous day’s AQI of 299.
