Delhi Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of PM Modi’s Events Today
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled events in the capital on Friday, January 3, 2025. To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize public inconvenience, special traffic arrangements will be effective from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Prime Minister’s Schedule
PM Modi is set to inaugurate several key projects today:
- Swabhiman Apartments, Ashok Vihar: Around 12:10 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 1,675 newly constructed flats under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project for residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters. He will also hand over keys to eligible beneficiaries.
- World Trade Centre (WTC), Nauroji Nagar: Inauguration of the urban redevelopment project.
- General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters, Sarojini Nagar: Inauguration of the residential project.
- CBSE Integrated Office Complex, Dwarka: Inauguration of the new office complex.
- Delhi University Projects: Laying the foundation stone for three new projects.
PM Modi will address a public rally at Ramleela Ground in Ashok Vihar. This marks the commencement of his campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections. A second rally is scheduled for January 5 at Japanese Park in Rohini.
Traffic Restrictions and Affected Areas
To facilitate these events, traffic restrictions will be in place on the following routes:
- Mall Road (Ring Road): Hakikat Nagar Red Light to Azadpur Chowk (both sides).
- GTK Road: Azadpur Chowk to Gurudwara Nanak Pio.
- Bhamashah Marg: Model Town-1 to Nanak Pio.
- Lala Achhintam Marg & Brahma Kumari Marg: Gujranwala & Derawal areas.
- Nahar Singh Marg: Prembari Chowk to Inderlok Metro Station (both sides).
- Gulab Singh Marg: Satyawati College to Prerna Chowk.
- Swami Narayan Marg: Delhi Jal Board Red Light to Laxmi Bai College.
- Mahatma Gandhi Marg: Britannia Chowk to Azadpur.
Residents traveling to areas such as Azadpur, Model Town, and Kingsway Camp should plan their journeys accordingly. Those going to Gujranwala Town, Derawal Nagar, and Swabhiman Apartments should do the same. Travelers to Ramleela Ground in Ashok Vihar must also plan their journeys accordingly. They should also allow extra time for their commute.
