2 Dead As 4-Storey Building Collapses In Delhi’s Seelampur, Several Feared Trapped

A four-storey residential building collapsed in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area early on Saturday morning, According to officials Two people have died Eight have been rescued and hospitalised, while several are feared trapped under the debris. Rescue operations are underway.
The building, located in the Janata Mazdoor Colony of the Welcome area, came crashing down around 7:00 am. with at least seven fire tenders on the scene.
“We received a call regarding a building collapse at 7 am. Rescue operations were initiated immediately,” a fire department official said. ” Eight people have been rescued and sent to the hospital. More people are feared trapped, and our teams are working to clear the rubble.”
The exact number of people trapped inside the collapsed structure is not yet known. The cause of the collapse is also under investigation.
Visuals from the site showed a massive pile of debris in a congested lane, with rescue workers and local residents trying to locate survivors.
This is the second major building collapse to hit the national capital in less than two days. On Friday morning, a 46-year-old man was killed when a three-storey commercial building collapsed in the Bara Hindu Rao area of central Delhi. That incident was suspected to be linked to nearby metro construction work.
