20 More Delhi Schools Get Bomb Threats; Panic Grips Capital For 4th Straight Day

The wave of bomb threats targeting educational institutions in Delhi continued for the fourth consecutive day on Friday, with more than 20 schools receiving menacing emails, triggering fresh panic among students, parents, and staff across the national capital.
The latest threats, which like the previous ones turned out to be hoaxes, have taken the total number of targeted schools this week to over 30.
On Friday morning, schools including Richmondd Global School in Paschim Vihar and Abhinav Public School in Rohini’s Sector 3 reported receiving threatening emails, prompting immediate evacuations. Teams from the Delhi Police, the bomb disposal squad, and the Delhi Fire Service were rushed to the locations.
“Thorough search operations were launched at all the schools that received threats. Nothing suspicious has been found,” a senior police official said.
The repeated threats have created a climate of fear and disrupted the academic schedule. Earlier this week, on Wednesday, a similar wave of hoax emails had hit multiple schools. Police later detained a 12-year-old student for sending a threat to St. Thomas School in Dwarka, who was later counselled and handed over to his family.
The persistent security scare has drawn sharp political reactions. Former Delhi Education Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Atishi, slammed the BJP-led central government, which controls the Delhi Police, for failing to stop the menace.
“More than 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through. The BJP controls all 4 engines of governance in Delhi, and is not yet able to provide any safety or security to our children! Shocking!” Atishi posted on X.
Police officials have stated that the emails appear to be sent using masked IP addresses and VPNs to avoid detection, and a detailed cyber investigation is underway to trace the culprits behind the coordinated campaign of harassment.
