As Delhi gears up for the assembly elections next month, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal unveiled a manifesto laden with 15 guarantees, aiming to solidify AAP’s commitment to the residents of the national capital.

Kejriwal highlighted AAP’s pioneering use of the term ‘guarantee’, claiming BJP has since adopted it without matching AAP’s execution. The manifesto’s first promise is robust job creation for the youth, underscoring the party’s focus on employment.

The Mahila Samman Yojana guarantees a monthly stipend of ₹2,100 for women, aiming to empower them financially. For the elderly, the Sanjeevani Yojana promises free healthcare, ensuring medical support where it’s most needed.

Students stand to gain with free bus travel and a 50% concession on metro fares, a move to facilitate education and mobility. Additionally, the manifesto pledges to waive hiked water bills and ensure 24/7 supply of clean drinking water.

Environmental concerns are addressed with a commitment to clean the Yamuna River, alongside promises to upgrade Delhi’s road infrastructure to world-class standards.

Scholarships for SC and ST students to study abroad under the Babasaheb Ambedkar Scholarship Yojana, and financial support for priests and Gurudwara Granthis, reflect AAP’s broad spectrum approach. Tenants will also benefit from free electricity and water schemes previously exclusive to property owners.

Further, AAP aims to overhaul Delhi’s sewage system, issue overlooked ration cards, and support auto and cab drivers with wedding funds for their daughters and insurance coverage. Safety is another focal point with funds allocated for RWAs to hire security guards.

Meanwhile, BJP has countered with its manifesto, promising similar initiatives like cleaning the Yamuna in three years and enhancing healthcare benefits under the Ayushman Scheme. However, AAP has accused BJP of plagiarism, with Manish Sisodia suggesting it’s an admission of defeat.

As Delhiites head to the polls, these manifestos will play a crucial role in shaping voter decisions.
