‘Ek Baar Jo Humne…’: IAF Chief Quotes Salman Khan While Hailing Operation Sindoor as National Victory

Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh on Thursday invoked a famous Salman Khan dialogue while hailing the success of India’s recent anti-terror offensive — Operation Sindoor. Speaking at a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) event, Singh praised the coordination behind the operation and underlined the importance of indigenisation in defence production.

Referring to India’s unwavering defence commitment, Singh quipped: “Ek baar jo humne commitment kar diya to fir, hum apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta,” drawing applause from the audience.

Air Chief Marshal Singh spotlighted the growing role of technology in modern warfare and reiterated the armed forces’ commitment to using indigenous equipment under the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

“We are trying our best to maximise the use of Make-in-India products. The current global situation has made us realise the urgency of becoming self-reliant,” he said, calling for enhanced collaboration between the military and domestic defence manufacturers.

Describing Operation Sindoor as a “national victory”, Singh credited all defence forces, intelligence agencies, and citizens for the operation’s success.

“It was an operation executed in a very professional manner by everybody — all the agencies, all the forces. When the truth is together, everything happens on its own,” he stated.

Singh also noted that the mission had provided important insights into the future trajectory of India’s military preparedness.

“A lot of work needs to be done in realigning our thought process. Since we have met the challenge so far, I’m confident we’ll continue to deliver,” he added.

The IAF Chief’s Salman Khan-inspired remark quickly went viral on social media, with many users praising his wit and patriotism. Defence experts lauded his remarks on technology and indigenisation, with retired Major General AK Siwach calling Operation Sindoor a “landmark success for modern Indian warfare.”

While details of Operation Sindoor remain classified, it is known to be part of India’s intensified anti-terror operations following recent cross-border threats. The mission’s reported objective was to neutralize terror infrastructure with precision and coordination among multiple security agencies.
