Ex-Bigg Boss Contestant Divya Suresh In Hit-And-Run, Woman Suffers Leg Fracture
Kannada actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Divya Suresh has been implicated in a hit-and-run incident in Bengaluru that left a woman with a serious leg fracture. The accident, which occurred in the Byatarayanapura area around 1:30 am on October 4, was captured on CCTV footage and involved a car allegedly driven by the actress colliding with a motorcycle. The motorcycle was carrying three people, identified as Anusha, Anita, and Kiran, who were on their way to a hospital.
According to the complaint, the biker swerved to avoid stray dogs when the car crashed into them. The impact left Anita with a fractured kneecap, while the other two sustained minor injuries. Eyewitnesses and relatives have described the incident as a clear hit-and-run. “While on our way to the hospital… a lady in a black KIA car hit and ran despite calling her to stop,” the victim’s cousin stated.Following the collision, police at the scene advised the group to rush the injured to a hospital.
Anita underwent surgery at BGS Hospital, incurring costs of approximately ₹2 lakh, and her family says she will be bedridden for an extended period. A formal complaint was filed by Kiran on October 7, after which the Byatarayanapura Traffic Police launched an investigation. Using CCTV footage, they traced the car to Divya Suresh and seized the vehicle. The victim’s family alleges that the actress has made no contact nor offered any assistance since the accident.
Superintendent of Police Anoop Shetty confirmed that a case has been registered and noted that both parties had delayed filing their complaints. The investigation identified Divya Suresh as the driver. While initial findings suggested contributing factors like triple riding on the bike and potential overspeeding, the exact cause is still under investigation. The police are continuing to review CCTV footage to reconstruct the sequence of events.
