‘Her Father Liked The Song’: Radhika Yadav’s Co-Actor On Music Video Amid Murder Row

In a new twist to the tragic murder of tennis player Radhika Yadav, her music video co-star, Inam-ul-Haq, has claimed that the 25-year-old had told him that her father had liked the song they worked on together. He also revealed that her mother had accompanied her to the shoot, suggesting the family was aware of her project.

Radhika was allegedly shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their Gurugram home on Thursday. Following her death, a music video titled “Karwaan” featuring her in a lead role went viral, sparking widespread speculation that her father disapproved of her foray into the entertainment world and that it was a potential motive for the crime.

However, Inam-ul-Haq’s statement now challenges that narrative. “She (Radhika) came to the shooting (of the music video) with her mother. On the set, she also mentioned that her father liked the song, which means she took permission from her father,” the actor was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

He added that Radhika had expressed a desire to work in the film industry but they were only professionally connected and did not discuss her family life in detail.

Meanwhile, the Gurugram Police have stated that while they are probing all angles, there is “nothing concrete” to suggest the music video was the primary trigger. According to police, the main point of contention between Radhika and her father was the tennis academy she ran.

Police officials have said that Deepak Yadav, during his confession, stated he was unhappy with his daughter working and was often taunted by people for being financially dependent on her earnings. This long-standing dispute over her financial independence and running the academy is being treated as the main motive behind the murder.
