'Learn From It': MP Minister's Shocker On Molestation Of Australian Cricketers

Madhya Pradesh minister and senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has sparked a major controversy with his shocking remarks on the molestation of two Australian women cricketers in Indore, suggesting that the players should “learn from the incident” and be more cautious. His statement, which appeared to shift some responsibility onto the victims, has drawn sharp criticism.Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Vijayvargiya advised that players should inform local authorities before travelling and be mindful of their popularity.

“Any player goes anywhere, like us, when we go out, we tell at least one local person… it will be noticed that in the future, if we ever leave our place, we should talk to the local administration or the security in-charge,” he said. He then bizarrely added, “Cricket players have a big craze.

I have seen English football player’s clothes bursting and a girl even kissed him… This is a lesson for all of us, and also for them.”Vijayvargiya’s comments were in response to an incident on Thursday where two Australian cricketers, in India for the Women’s World Cup, were allegedly harassed and “touched inappropriately” by a man on a motorcycle while they were walking to a café.

Police have since arrested one suspect in connection with the assault. The minister’s statement has only added fuel to the political fire already raging over the incident. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) slammed the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, calling the episode “a shameful blot” that has “lowered India’s image before the world.” Instead of offering an unequivocal apology, the minister’s advice to the players has been widely condemned as insensitive and inappropriate.Meta Description:
