Longest Kill Was 300 Km Inside Pak Territory: Air Force Chief Reveals Op Sindoor Details
Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, on Thursday revealed stunning new details about ‘Operation Sindoor’, describing it as the most significant military engagement of the year and highlighting a long-range strike that penetrated over 300 kilometers into Pakistani territory.
Speaking at the annual press conference ahead of Air Force Day, Singh credited the operation’s success to India’s robust air defence and precision joint-service planning. In his briefing, the Air Chief Marshal identified long-range surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) as the decisive, game-changing factor in the operation.
“The longest kill we achieved was of more than 300 km inside their territory. Our robust air defence infrastructure turned the tables,” he stated, underscoring the IAF’s advanced capabilities. He declared that the operation will “go down in history” for its precision and impact, calling it the first “catastrophic operation of its scale since 1971” to be publicly detailed. “We were able to strike with accuracy, achieve minimal casualties, and bring them to their knees in just one night of Operation Sindoor,” he added.
The IAF chief emphasized that the mission was a testament to the seamless coordination between the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He praised the joint planning and execution, stating, “We proved to be achook (unerring), abhedya (impenetrable) and sateek (precise) in Operation Sindoor.”
A video showcasing the strikes was also played for the media during the briefing.Singh also took a moment to laud the role of the Indian media in managing the narrative and countering misinformation during the critical operation. “There was a plethora of misinformation, but our media helped the forces a lot. Public morale should not be affected when soldiers are fighting, and channels ensured that,” he noted.
