Meerut Shocker: Wife, Lover Kill Merchant Navy Husband, Seal Body in Cement Drum
A Merchant Navy officer, returning from London to surprise his wife on her birthday, was allegedly stabbed to death by her and her lover in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, with his body chopped into 15 pieces and sealed in a cement-filled drum.
Saurabh Rajput, 29, a Merchant Navy officer, was reported missing since March 4, triggering a police investigation in Meerut’s Indira Nagar. The case unraveled when a foul smell led authorities to recover his dismembered body from a cement-sealed drum on Tuesday.
Police arrested Saurabh’s wife, Muskan, 27, and her lover, Sahil, 25, after they confessed to the crime. The duo admitted to stabbing Saurabh, cutting his body into 15 pieces, and hiding the remains in a drum at their rented home.
Saurabh had returned from London on February 24 to celebrate Muskan’s birthday, unaware of her affair with Sahil. On March 4, the accused allegedly murdered him, launching a chilling cover-up that shocked the local community.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ayush Vikram Singh said the investigation began after Saurabh’s family reported him missing. “Based on suspicion, we detained Muskan and Sahil, who confessed during interrogation,” Singh told reporters.

To mislead Saurabh’s family, Muskan reportedly sent messages from his phone after the murder. The couple even took a vacation to a hill station, further delaying suspicion, according to police findings.
Saurabh and Muskan, married in 2016 after a love affair opposed by their families, lived in a rented house in Indranagar Phase 1 with their three-year-old daughter. Police said the couple’s relationship had been strained for some time.
The recovered body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine further details of the killing. A case has been registered based on a complaint from Saurabh’s family, police confirmed.
ASP Singh stated, “The accused stabbed Saurabh on March 4, dismembered his body, and sealed it in a drum with cement. Both have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.”
The police are probing the motive behind the murder and whether others were involved in the cover-up. The Meerut community awaits justice as the investigation continues to unfold.
