Minor Girl Student Set On Fire In Odisha’s Puri, Cops Launch Probe
A 15-year-old girl is battling for her life with over 70 per cent burn injuries after she was allegedly set on fire by three unidentified miscreants in Odisha’s Puri district on Friday.
The shocking incident took place in the Boiabara area while the student was walking home from school. Police have launched a massive investigation to nab the culprits.
According to local sources, three individuals approached the girl and attempted to set her ablaze. Nearby residents saw the incident, rushed to her aid, and managed to douse the flames before taking her to a local medical facility.
The victim was later shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical.
The Balanga Police have registered a case and commenced an investigation into the heinous crime. As of now, the identities of the three accused have not been confirmed, and the motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear.
Authorities have stated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing probe.
