'My Whole World': Tej Pratap's Emotional Message for Lalu Yadav After RJD Ouster

Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, has broken his silence following his expulsion from the party with an emotional message dedicated to his parents. In his first public statement since being ousted for six years on May 25, Tej Pratap described his parents as his “whole world” while taking veiled shots at party members he accused of betrayal.

The heartfelt note, shared on X (formerly Twitter), reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi despite the disciplinary action. Without naming specific individuals, he appeared to target certain RJD members, comparing them to “Jaichand” – a historical reference to betrayal in Indian folklore.

In his social media post, Tej Pratap expressed complete devotion to his parents, placing them above all else including religious beliefs. “My dear mom and dad. My whole world is just you two. You and any order given by you are greater than God. If you are there then I have everything. I just need your trust and love and nothing else,” he wrote.

The message reflects the deep emotional impact of his expulsion while attempting to maintain family bonds despite the party’s disciplinary action.

Without naming specific individuals, Tej Pratap appeared to criticize certain RJD members whom he believes contributed to his current situation. “Papa, if you were not there then this party would not have been there and neither would greedy people like Jaichand who do politics with me,” he added in his post.

The reference to “Jaichand” – a king in Indian history known for betraying Prithviraj Chauhan – suggests Tej Pratap believes he has been betrayed by people within the party who should have been loyal to the family.

The RJD leadership expelled Tej Pratap for six years on May 25, citing “irresponsible behaviour” and conduct unbecoming of the party’s values. The disciplinary action came after a controversial social media post that created significant embarrassment for the party and the Yadav family.

The expulsion represents one of the most severe disciplinary actions taken against a member of the Yadav family within the RJD, highlighting the gravity of the situation from the party leadership’s perspective.

The disciplinary action followed a controversial post from Tej Pratap’s Facebook account in which he allegedly revealed a 12-year romantic relationship with someone named Anushka Yadav. The post created a significant stir on social media and was seen as damaging to the family’s reputation.

The content of the post was considered inappropriate by party leadership and was cited as the primary reason for the expulsion decision.

Tej Pratap has consistently denied authorship of the controversial Facebook post, claiming his account was compromised. He has alleged that his Facebook account was hacked and the images were doctored as part of a deliberate attempt to tarnish his and his family’s reputation.

These claims of hacking have not been independently verified, and the party leadership proceeded with disciplinary action despite his denials.

Saturday’s emotional message marks Tej Pratap’s first public statement referencing his parents since the expulsion. The post carefully avoids directly challenging the party’s decision while maintaining his position as a loyal family member.

The timing and tone of the message suggest an attempt to rebuild bridges with his parents while potentially laying groundwork for future reconciliation with the party.

This incident is not the first time Tej Pratap has found himself in controversy over social media posts. The elder son of Lalu Yadav has previously made headlines for various statements and actions that have sometimes embarrassed the party leadership.

His social media activity has often been unpredictable, leading to previous warnings from party leadership about maintaining discipline and decorum.
