'Papa In Drum' Meerut Men Daughter Tells Neighbours After Woman And Her lover Killed Him

A chilling murder in Meerut unfolded as Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla allegedly killed her husband Saurabh Rajput, hid his body in a cement-filled drum, while their five-year-old daughter told neighbours, “Papa is in drum.”

Saurabh Rajput, who returned from London to Meerut on February 24, was allegedly murdered by his wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla on March 4. The couple stabbed him, slit his throat, and dismembered his body before sealing it in a drum with cement, police revealed.

Saurabh’s mother claimed her five-year-old granddaughter told neighbours, “Papa drum mein hain,” hinting at the crime. “She might have seen something, then only she was saying so,” she told ANI, adding that locals relayed the child’s statement to the family.

Muskan sent messages from Saurabh’s phone to his sister, pretending he was alive and discussing Holi plans. When the sister grew suspicious after unanswered calls, the façade began to unravel, leading to the eventual discovery of the crime.

Police stated Muskan sedated Saurabh with spiked food before Sahil arrived to assist in the killing. After the murder, they bought a drum, cement, and sand, sealed the body inside, and hid it in their rented home in Meerut.

Muskan and Sahil reportedly vacationed in Himachal Pradesh after the murder, locking their house and telling neighbours they were traveling with Saurabh. This trip occurred while Muskan sent misleading messages to cover their tracks.

The crime came to light when Muskan’s mother informed the police after her daughter confessed. Upon interrogation, Muskan and Sahil admitted to the killing, leading to their arrest. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.

Saurabh and Muskan, married since 2016, lived with their daughter in a rented house. While Saurabh told his family he worked in the Merchant Navy, police clarified he was employed at a bakery in London. Muskan’s father alleged her drug addiction, fueled by Sahil, drove her to murder.

Muskan’s father, Pramod Rastogi, told India Today, “She told me she could not live without drugs,” and called for her to be hanged for the crime. Saurabh’s mother accused Muskan’s family of prior knowledge and attempting to mislead authorities.

The investigation continues as police probe the full extent of the crime and any additional involvement. The case has shocked the Meerut community, with legal proceedings expected to follow as the accused face court.
