PM Modi Holds Massive Roadshow in Gujarat; To Inaugurate ₹82,000 Cr Projects on 2-Day Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his two-day visit to Gujarat on Monday with a massive roadshow in Vadodara, his first visit to the state following Operation Sindoor. Amid cheering crowds and flower showers, PM Modi greeted supporters as he commenced a tour aimed at launching infrastructure projects worth ₹82,000 crore across key districts.
Visuals from the Vadodara roadshow showed thousands lining the streets, waving flags and showering petals as the Prime Minister’s convoy passed. The BJP says more than 50,000 people participated in the celebrations across his scheduled stops.
PM Modi’s itinerary includes visits to Dahod, Bhuj, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar. In Dahod, he inaugurated the Loco Manufacturing Shop-Rolling Stock Workshop and flagged off the Somnath–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express.
He also laid the foundation stone for government projects, including railway lines and infrastructure upgrades worth ₹24,000 crore. Notably, a new railway production unit in Dahod was opened under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, constructed at a cost exceeding ₹21,000 crore.
In addition, PM Modi unveiled four drinking water group supply schemes worth ₹181 crore, aimed at providing 100 litres of clean water per capita per day to over 4.62 lakh people across 193 villages and one town in Dahod and Mahisagar districts.
Later in the day, he arrived in Bhuj to launch projects worth ₹53,000 crore focused on energy, port development, road construction, and power transmission. These initiatives span Kutch, Jamnagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Ahmedabad, Tapi, and Mahisagar.
At 7:30 pm on Monday, PM Modi will lead a 3-km-long roadshow from Ahmedabad Airport to Indira Bridge. Over 50,000 BJP supporters and citizens are expected to join.
He will stay overnight at Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar, and on Tuesday morning at 10:30 am, he will conduct another roadshow in the city. Later at Mahatma Mandir, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects totaling ₹5,536 crore.
These include 22,055 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana worth ₹1,006 crore and Phase-3 of the Sabarmati Riverfront Project at ₹1,000 crore. Additionally, cheques worth ₹3,300 crore will be distributed to urban local bodies under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
Supporters hailed Modi’s visit as a show of strength in his home state, especially after the high-stakes Operation Sindoor and ongoing political developments. Social media was abuzz with visuals of packed streets and aerial shots of cheering crowds.
Gujarat BJP leaders stated that the visit underscores the Centre’s focus on state-led development and infrastructural transformation ahead of the monsoon season.
This is PM Modi’s first visit to Gujarat since Operation Sindoor — the classified military operation launched earlier this month that has significantly altered the national security narrative.
