PM Modi to Meet ‘Operation Sindoor’ All-Party Delegations Next Week for Debrief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet members of the multi-party parliamentary delegations next week to receive a comprehensive briefing on their recent diplomatic outreach to 33 countries. The meeting, likely to take place in New Delhi on June 9 or 10, will focus on the international community’s response to India’s stance following the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent ‘Operation Sindoor’.
These high-level delegations, comprising Members of Parliament from across the political spectrum, senior political figures, and seasoned diplomats, were dispatched by the government in what was described as an unprecedented show of bipartisan unity. Their mission was to engage global leaders and present India’s position, seeking to garner international support for its sustained fight against terrorism.
According to official sources, the delegates will apprise Prime Minister Modi of key developments from their visits. This will include details of high-level meetings held, strategic conversations undertaken, and the overall tone and substance of the responses received from various nations regarding the April 22 Pahalgam attack and India’s broader counter-terrorism efforts. The feedback will cover global perspectives on terrorism, national security, and regional stability as conveyed to the Indian representatives.
Seven distinct delegations were sent overseas, each headed by a prominent parliamentarian:
- Shashi Tharoor (Indian National Congress)
- Ravi Shankar Prasad (Bharatiya Janata Party)
- Sanjay Kumar Jha (Janata Dal – United)
- Baijayant Panda (Bharatiya Janata Party)
- Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam)
- Supriya Sule (Nationalist Congress Party)
- Shrikant Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena)
The upcoming meeting with the Prime Minister is seen as a crucial step in consolidating the feedback from this extensive diplomatic exercise. It will allow the government to assess the impact of its outreach and strategize its future course of action in its global campaign against terror.
In a related development, Prime Minister Modi will also chair a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers on June 4 at 4:30 pm. This will be the first such meeting after India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ in retaliation to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
