PM Modi Visits Punjab’s Adampur Air Base, Meets Jawans and Fighter Pilots
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Indian Air Force’s Adampur air base in Punjab on Tuesday, praising air warriors for their courage and resilience amid India-Pak tensions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning visited the Adampur Air Force Station in Punjab, one of the four strategic IAF bases affected by recent Pakistani attacks. During his hour-long visit, PM Modi interacted with jawans, fighter pilots, and technical support staff who were part of India’s recent air operations.
PM Modi was briefed on the security situation at the base by senior Air Force officials. He also met personnel who operate the MiG-29 fighter jets stationed at Adampur.
Taking to social media platform X, the Prime Minister posted photographs with the jawans and called the visit “a very special experience.”
“Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation,” he said.
Air Chief Marshal A P Singh accompanied the Prime Minister on the visit, which began at 7 am from Delhi’s Palam Air Base.
Adampur is one of the key operational IAF bases alongside Udhampur, Pathankot, and Bhuj. All four have reportedly suffered limited damage during recent cross-border hostilities. Adampur is known for housing India’s MiG-29 fighters, which have played a critical role in India’s aerial defense strategy.
According to sources, the base remains fully operational, and measures have been implemented to strengthen its defense.
The visit comes in the backdrop of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. India responded with precision strikes under “Operation Sindoor,” leading to a temporary ceasefire. PM Modi, in his recent address, made it clear that India has only “paused” its operations and will respond forcefully to any further aggression.
