Rahul Gandhi’s Scathing Attack On PM: ‘All Show, No Substance, Dum Nahin Hai’

Launching a direct and personal attack, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday dismissed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “all show” with “no substance,” claiming he is “not a big problem. ” Speaking at an event in Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium, the Congress leader asserted that the PM has been overhyped by the media and also accused the central government of failing to ensure representation for marginalized communities.
“He is just a big show, he has been given too much importance,” Rahul Gandhi stated, adding that after meeting the Prime Minister a few times, he had concluded that there was “no substance” to him. In a blunt dismissal, he added, “Dum nahin hai” (he doesn’t hold that much power).
Gandhi claimed that the perception of the Prime Minister has been manufactured by the media. “There is no air about PM Modi. The media has inflated him beyond proportion,” the senior Congress leader said.
Shifting his focus, Gandhi also targeted the government on the issue of social justice. He argued that Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and minorities, who constitute nearly 90% of the population, are grossly underrepresented in the country’s bureaucracy and top corporate positions.
Using an analogy, he said, “When the halwa was being distributed after the budget was prepared, there was no one representing this 90%… You are the ones who make the halwa, but they are the ones eating it. We are not saying they shouldn’t eat the halwa, but at the very least, you should get some too.”
Citing data from the Congress-led government in Telangana, he claimed that people from SC, ST, and OBC communities are not getting high-paying jobs in the corporate sector. “On the other hand, if we look at the lists of MGNREGA workers or gig workers, they are entirely made up of people from the SC, ST, and OBC communities,” he added.
