“Sab Khatam Ho Gaya”: Horrific Videos Show People Swept Away in Uttarakhand Cloudburst

Harrowing new videos emerging from Uttarakhand capture the sheer terror of the massive cloudburst that struck Uttarkashi’s Dharali village on Tuesday, triggering deadly flash floods. The bone-chilling footage, shared widely on social media, shows people desperately running for their lives as a powerful torrent of water and debris engulfs the area, sweeping some away in its violent current.
At least four deaths have been confirmed by Uttarkashi District Magistrate Prashant Arya, though officials fear the toll is likely to rise as rescue operations continue.
The shocking visuals lay bare the scale of the devastation. In one video, a distraught local can be heard exclaiming, “sab khatam ho gaya” (everything is over), as the flash flood obliterates everything in its path. Another clip shows a resident narrating the destruction, pointing to where a bustling market and an entire village once stood.
“Pura yeh jo gaon hai, pata bhi nahi chal raha. Yeh humara market tha, pura barbaad ho gaya,” he says, translating to, “An entire village was here, which has now been washed away. Our market used to be here, everything has been destroyed.” The disaster has prompted a massive response from both state and central authorities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have both taken stock of the grim situation. Shah confirmed that three teams from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and four from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been dispatched to the affected region to carry out rescue and relief work.
Prime Minister Modi said he has spoken to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and assured that “no stone is being left unturned in providing assistance to the people.” Rescue teams are working on a war footing under the state government’s supervision to locate the missing and provide aid to the survivors of this devastating natural disaster.
