Student Sexually Assaulted At Delhi’s South Asian University, Police Launch Probe
A student was allegedly sexually assaulted at the South Asian University campus in South Delhi, prompting police to file an FIR and launch an investigation into the matter. According to officials, the incident came to light after a PCR call was made to the Maidangarhi Police Station around 3:00 pm on Monday.Police said the call was made by an acquaintance of the victim.
An FIR has been registered, and the investigation is underway. “An FIR has been filed and we are looking into the matter,” an official confirmed. The student is currently being counselled, and her formal statement is yet to be recorded by the authorities.The incident at the prestigious international university has once again raised concerns about the safety of students in the national capital.
It comes just days after another case was reported on October 6, where an 18-year-old MBBS student was allegedly raped by a man at a hotel in Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area. In that case, the victim, a native of Haryana, alleged that the accused invited her to a party, drugged her, and then sexually assaulted her. A case was registered, and the investigation is ongoing.
