In a sharp and sarcastic jibe, he questioned whether the poll body would launch a proper investigation into the matter or simply resort to demanding affidavits, as it did in the case of his “vote chori” allegations.

Taking to social media, Gandhi drew a direct parallel between the two issues, suggesting a pattern of inaction and partiality from the Election Commission. “Will the EC investigate or will it ask for affidavits here too?” he asked, a clear reference to the Commission’s recent demand that he submit a sworn affidavit to back up his claims of large-scale manipulation of voter lists. The pointed question is designed to corner the poll body and challenge its credibility.

The fresh allegation adds another dimension to the Congress’s ongoing ‘Voter Adhikaar Yatra’ and its sustained campaign against what it terms the “theft” of democratic rights. By highlighting the massive, unexplained political funding in Gujarat, a BJP stronghold, Gandhi is attempting to link the alleged manipulation of electoral rolls to the influence of “black money” in politics, implying a deeper conspiracy to undermine the electoral process.
