‘Won’t Bow to Nuclear Pressure’: PM Modi Hails Op Sindoor, Warns Pakistan in I-Day Speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a powerful Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, issued a stern warning to India’s adversaries, asserting that the country will not bow to “nuclear pressure” and will respond decisively to any threat. Hailing the success of “Operation Sindoor,” Modi revealed that the armed forces were given complete freedom to choose the “time, location, and date” for the retaliatory strikes, underscoring his government’s robust and assertive national security policy.
“We gave a free hand to our forces; we told them that the time, location, and date, you will decide,” the Prime Minister declared, highlighting the autonomy granted to military commanders during the operation. His speech sent an unambiguous message that India is prepared to act firmly against terrorism. “We have decided that terrorists and their friends will not be spared, and they will be treated in the same way. We are not going to come under nuclear pressure,” Modi asserted, reinforcing India’s policy of zero tolerance for terror.
The Prime Minister also reiterated India’s hardened stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, stating that “blood and water will not flow together.” He noted that the people of India now understand the perceived injustice of the treaty, signaling a continued tough approach on water-sharing with Pakistan amidst severely strained bilateral relations following the Pahalgam terror attack and its aftermath.
In his address, the Prime Minister also paid rich tribute to the contribution of women in the nation’s history, from the freedom struggle to the framing of the Constitution. “Our women power has contributed no less to our freedom struggle and the making of our Constitution. To those who framed our Constitution, I bow before them today from the Red Fort,” he said.
