10 Devotees, Heading to Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh, Killed Car Collides with Bus
In a heart-wrenching incident on Saturday, at least 10 devotees lost their lives in a horrific collision on the Prayagraj-Mirzapur highway in Uttar Pradesh. The accident involved a car carrying pilgrims from Korba, Chhattisgarh, crashing into a bus, leading to the immediate death of these individuals who were on their way to the sacred Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
According to reports from Navbharat Times, the devastating event took place in the Meja area of Prayagraj. The pilgrims were journeying to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela, where millions gather to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.
The crash not only resulted in fatalities but also left 19 people injured. Immediate medical response was initiated, with the injured being rushed to nearby medical facilities. Those with severe injuries were transferred to the district hospital for advanced care. Local authorities, including the police, were quick to respond, ensuring that the injured received prompt attention.
