‘Chacha’s Nature Changes’: Tejashwi Yadav Says Nitish Kumar ‘Hijacked’ by BJP
RJD leader and the Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate, Tejashwi Yadav, launched a sharp attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday, mocking his political flip-flops by saying, “Uncle’s nature changes again and again — from this side to that side.” Addressing a poll rally in Saharsa, Yadav claimed that the JD(U) leader has been “hijacked” by the BJP.Citing a statement by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tejashwi told the crowd, “Amit Shah has said that after the election, the BJP will decide who will be the Chief Minister.
One thing is clear: Nitish Kumar ji has once again been hijacked by the BJP.” He added a touch of mock sympathy, saying, “You all know Chacha ji’s nature, he is good at heart, but we are saddened that BJP leaders are treating him unfairly.”The RJD leader also took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, invoking a ‘Bihari versus Bahari’ (insider vs. outsider) sentiment.
“PM Modi sets up factories in Gujarat and wants victory in Bihar, but this is not going to happen… We are Biharis, we don’t get scared from ‘Baharis’,” he declared, adding, “If Lalu Ji wasn’t afraid of Modi, then why should we be?”Shifting from attacks to promises, Yadav vowed to deliver on his commitments, stating, “What the government has not been able to do in 20 years, we will do it in 20 months.”
He also outlined an inclusive power-sharing formula if elected, promising that Mukesh Sahani would be made a Deputy Chief Minister to represent extremely backward classes, and that other Deputy CMs would be appointed to represent different religions and sections of society. The Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results to be declared on November 14.
