The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode. The single-day, single-shift exam aligns with guidelines set by the National Medical Commission (NMC), ensuring uniformity and accessibility for medical aspirants across the country.

Key Features of NEET UG 2025

  1. Mode of Examination:
    NEET UG 2025 will be conducted offline using the OMR-based pen-and-paper format. This decision, confirmed after consultations with the Health Ministry and the NTA, maintains the traditional format familiar to candidates.
  2. Uniform Admission Test:
    NEET UG 2025 will serve as the common eligibility test for admission into:
    • MBBS and BDS courses.
    • BAMS, BUMS, BSMS under the Indian System of Medicine.
    • BHMS courses regulated by the National Commission for Homeopathy.
    • B.Sc. Nursing programs under the Military Nursing Service (MNS).
  3. Revised Syllabus:
    The NMC has updated the syllabus for NEET UG 2025, incorporating Physics, Chemistry, and Biology curricula from Class 11 and 12. The updated syllabus is available on the official websites of NMC (nmc.org) and NTA (nta.ac.in).
  4. Exam Structure:
    • Duration: 3 hours 20 minutes.
    • Total Questions: 200 (180 to be attempted).
    • Marking Scheme: +4 for each correct answer, -1 for incorrect answers.
    • Languages: Available in 13 regional languages.
