‘He Is Not Educated’: BJP Slams Tejashwi Yadav Over ‘Like Urine’ Remarks on Foreign Nationals in Bihar Voter List

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav faced sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday after he dismissed reports of foreign nationals being found in Bihar’s voter list, calling the Election Commission’s “sources” as “mutra” (urine). The remark came after Booth Level Officers (BLOs) reported the presence of Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Myanmar nationals with Indian documents during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state.

Reacting to the statement, BJP leader Sanjay Jaiswal called Tejashwi “uneducated and irresponsible” and demanded an apology. Speaking to ANI, Jaiswal said, “Only Tejashwi Yadav can make such comments about media personnel or any human being in general. The problem with Tejashwi Yadav is that he is not educated, which is why people at his home make him memorise whatever they want, and he just repeats it.”

Jaiswal urged the RJD leader to express regret and take an oath to refrain from making such statements in the future.

The controversy erupted after Tejashwi Yadav rejected the ECI BLOs’ findings during house-to-house verification under the SIR, where officials claimed to have found foreign nationals in possession of Indian documents like Aadhaar cards, ration cards, and domicile certificates. The ECI’s revision drive, aimed at cleansing electoral rolls, began on June 25 in Bihar and is scheduled to conclude on July 26, with final voter lists to be published on September 30.

Addressing reporters, Tejashwi said, “Who are these sources? These are the same sources that said Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore have been captured. We consider these sources as urine.” He further questioned the timing of the allegations ahead of elections, adding, “We lost elections in 2014, 2019, and 2024 by three to four lakh votes. Does that mean all these foreigners voted for PM Modi?”

The Election Commission has not officially responded to Tejashwi’s comments, but the issue has sparked a political row in Bihar, where voter list integrity is a key point of discussion ahead of upcoming elections.
