Man Arrested in Haryana Congress Worker Himani Narwal’s Murder: Blackmail and Suitcase Mystery Unraveled
A shocking breakthrough has emerged in the murder case of 22-year-old Congress worker Himani Narwal, whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase near Sampla bus stand in Haryana. Two days after the grim discovery on March 1, Haryana police arrested a man from Bahadurgarh on Monday, alleging he was in a relationship with Himani and killed her after she blackmailed him for lakhs of rupees.
According to police sources, the accused and Himani were romantically involved. They claim she had been extorting money from him, pushing him to a breaking point. The suitcase, eerily, belonged to Himani herself, adding a chilling twist to the case. Her body was spotted by passers-by a day before Haryana’s municipal elections, sending shockwaves across the state.
Himani, an active Congress worker, gained recognition during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Her death prompted outrage from party leaders, who demanded a high-level probe. Congress MLA BB Batra called for a Special Investigation Team (SIT), while MP Deepender Singh Hooda criticized the state’s law and order situation. The party expressed grief on X, urging an impartial investigation.

However, Himani’s mother, Savita, painted a darker picture. She accused fellow Congress workers of jealousy over her daughter’s rising political career and closeness to leaders like Gandhi and Hooda. “Some in the party might be involved. She sacrificed so much for Congress,” Savita told India Today TV. She last spoke to Himani on February 27, before her phone went silent ahead of a Bhupinder Singh Hooda rally.
Despite Congress’s public support, Savita lamented the lack of personal outreach from senior leaders. “No one has contacted us,” she said, highlighting a disconnect amid the tragedy.
The investigation continues, with police analyzing CCTV footage and call records. The arrest marks a significant step, but questions linger about potential accomplices and the full motive. For now, this case remains a haunting blend of politics, betrayal, and a suitcase that held more than just secrets.
