Navi Mumbai Traffic Advisory as PM Modi In Navi Mumbai Today
In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Navi Mumbai on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive advisory detailing traffic restrictions and alternative routes to ensure smooth vehicular movement in the Kharghar area.
PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple located at Sector 23 in Kharghar. The ceremony is set to commence at 5:00 PM and is expected to attract a significant number of dignitaries, including ministers from both Central and State governments, as well as a large gathering of devotees and the general public.
Traffic Restrictions
To manage the anticipated increase in traffic and ensure public safety, the following measures will be in effect from 6:00 AM on January 15:
- Entry Bans:
- The stretch from Ove Gaon Police Station to J Kumar Circle and Green Heritage will be closed to general vehicular traffic on both sides. Exceptions will be made for VIP vehicles, police, emergency services, government vehicles, and those attending the event. Lokmat Times
- The road between Gurudwara Chowk and J Kumar Circle via B.D. Somani School will also be restricted under similar conditions.
- Access between ISKCON Temple Gate No. 1 and Gate No. 2 will be limited to authorized vehicles only.

Alternative Routes
To facilitate movement around the restricted zones, the Traffic Police have suggested the following detours:
- Vehicles approaching from Prashant Corner towards Ove Gaon Police Station and aiming for J Kumar Circle should turn left at Ove Gaon Chowk.
- Those traveling from Ove Gaon Chowk to J Kumar Circle are advised to turn right at Prashant Corner.
- Motorists from Shilp Chowk heading to J Kumar Circle should proceed to Green Heritage Chowk and then turn as required.
- Traffic from Gram Vikas Bhavan intending to turn left at Green Heritage Chowk should continue straight to B.D. Somani School.
- Vehicles from Central Park Metro Station heading to Ove Gaon Police Station should turn right and proceed accordingly.
- Commuters traveling from Ove Gaon Chowk to Gurudwara should go straight to Gram Vikas Bhavan Chowk and turn left.
- Those moving from Gram Vikas Bhavan to Gurudwara are advised to turn right at Ove Gaon Chowk.
- Vehicles from Vinayak Sheth Chowk to B.D. Somani School should turn right at B.D. Somani School Chowk.
No Parking Zones
To further alleviate congestion, the following areas have been designated as no-parking zones:
- Both sides of the road from Hiranandani Bridge Junction to Utsav Chowk, extending to Gram Vikas Bhavan, Gurudwara, and Ove Gaon Chowk.
- The stretch from Ove Gaon Police Station to Ove Cricket Ground (Helipad), Corporate Central Park, Sector 29, the event venue, Bhagwati Green Cut, and ISKCON Temple Gate No. 1.
- Roads from Gram Vikas Bhavan to Green Heritage and Central Park Metro Station.
- Both lanes from J Kumar Circle to Green Heritage.
Exemptions
These restrictions do not apply to vehicles transporting essential goods, police vehicles, fire brigades, ambulances, government vehicles, and other emergency services.

Motorists planning to travel through Kharghar on January 15 are advised to:
- Plan their journeys in advance, considering the alternative routes provided.
