PM Modi’s To Visit Bageshwar Dham Tomorrow, He Is Set To Lay Foundation Of Cancer Hospital
Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh – Tomorrow, February 23, 2025, will mark a historic moment for Bageshwar Dham as Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes his first-ever visit to this spiritual hub in Chhatarpur district. The PM is set to lay the foundation stone for a new cancer hospital and kick off the Bundelkhand Mahotsav, a major cultural festival. With preparations in full swing and security on high alert, the region is buzzing with anticipation for this big day.
PM Modi’s two-day Madhya Pradesh visit begins Sunday. He’ll land at Khajuraho Airport at 12:30 PM and hop on an Air Force helicopter to reach Bageshwar Dham by 1:00 PM. There, he’ll perform the “Bhoomi Pujan” ritual to start construction of the 100-bed cancer hospital—a project led by Bageshwar Sarkar Pandit Dhirendra Shastri. After an hour at the Dham, Modi will head back to Khajuraho by 2:10 PM and fly to Bhopal for the Global Investor Summit on February 24.
The local administration and Bageshwar Dham team are pulling out all the stops. Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and BJP state president VD Sharma have personally checked the arrangements. Shastri, the Dham’s head, has promised a memorable welcome for Modi. Alongside the hospital event, the Bundelkhand Mahotsav will showcase the region’s heritage, with a mass wedding of 251 girls planned for February 26—attended by President Droupadi Murmu.

With two VIP visits—Modi on February 23 and Murmu on February 26—security is airtight. Over 2,500 police personnel, including 15 IPS officers and 55 ASP-DSP level officials, are deployed. The Special Protection Group (SPG) and army helicopters are keeping watch. Three helipads are ready 3 km from the main temple, and the area is a no-drone zone. Khajuraho Airport is also a no-fly zone during Modi’s visit. Chhatarpur CSP Aman Mishra said, “We’ve got 2,500-3,000 personnel ensuring safety and smooth management.”
Expecting lakhs of visitors, police have set up parking zones and alternate routes. A detailed traffic plan ensures smooth flow during the week-long festivities from February 22-27. Vehicles from Rajnagar Railway Crossing to Koda Village will be diverted, and those leaving Bageshwar Dham will take the Ganj route via Pahadiya Maidan. Over 100 CCTV cameras are monitoring the area, with seating for 80,000-100,000 people and a 24-hour community kitchen planned.
The cancer hospital, expected to open by late 2027 or early 2028, will be a game-changer for Bundelkhand, offering modern healthcare and jobs. CM Yadav called it a “double benefit” for the region. Modi’s visit also ties into his broader Madhya Pradesh tour, including the Global Investor Summit, highlighting development and investment.
