Doctors reported significant progress in Saif’s recovery, moving him from the ICU to a private room on January 17. On January 21, he was cleared for discharge, with advice to rest for the coming days.

The violent attack occurred at 2 AM when Saif heard noises from his son Jeh’s room. Upon investigating, he found one of his female staff members being assaulted by the intruder. Saif intervened, leading to a confrontation during which the intruder stabbed him six times before fleeing the scene.
The incident prompted swift police action, resulting in the arrest of Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national living under the alias Vijay Das. Fakir was apprehended in Thane three days later and remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
