Delhi Elections 2025: BJP Releases First List Parvesh Verma Against Kejriwal

In a significant development ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its first list of 29 candidates. Among the most notable moves, BJP has fielded Parvesh Verma from the New Delhi assembly seat to take on the incumbent Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Arvind Kejriwal. The contest is set to be a high-stakes battle in the heart of the national capital.
Adding another layer of intrigue, senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit’s son, Sandeep Dikshit, will also contest from the same New Delhi seat, making it a three-way clash between prominent names.
The New Delhi seat is expected to be the focal point of this election. Parvesh Verma is known for his strong grassroots connect. His fiery rhetoric is another defining characteristic. He will attempt to unseat Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal has held the position since 2013. With Sandeep Dikshit joining the fray, this contest could set the tone for the rest of the election.
In Kalkaji, BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri is preparing for a challenging face-off. He will compete against CM Atishi of AAP. Congress’s Alka Lamba is also in the race. These triangular contests highlight the competitive nature of this year’s elections, where every vote will matter.
