‘Conspiracy Against US’: Trump Fumes as Xi Hosts Putin, Kim at Massive Beijing Military Parade
US President Donald Trump accused Chinese President Xi Jinping of “conspiring” against the United States on Wednesday, as Beijing hosted its largest military parade in decades with Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in prominent attendance .
In a sharply worded post on his Truth Social platform, Trump directed a message to Xi: “Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against the United States of America.” The comment coincided with a massive show of military force in Tiananmen Square to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, where the three leaders were seen walking side-by-side .
Trump also took issue with what he suggested was China’s attempt to downplay the United States’ role in defeating the occupying Japanese forces during the war . “The big question to be answered is whether or not President Xi of China will mention the massive amount of support and ‘blood’ that the United States of America gave to China in order to help it to secure its FREEDOM,” Trump wrote.
Adding that he hoped American soldiers would be “rightfully honoured and remembered.” This came after Xi, in a meeting with Putin earlier in the week, referred to China and Russia as the “victorious powers” of World War II, a statement seen as a pointed omission of Washington’s contribution amid escalating trade tensions .
The parade, which featured a vast array of advanced weaponry including new missiles and fighter jets, was widely viewed as a projection of China’s growing global power . Despite the striking optics of the alliance between Beijing, Moscow, and Pyongyang, Trump publicly brushed off concerns about a new axis forming against the US. “I am not concerned at all,” he told reporters earlier in the day, asserting, “We have the strongest military in the world, by far. They would never use their military on us. Believe me” .
