Donald Trump Quashes Death Rumors With Golf Outing, Ends Social Media Frenzy
US President Donald Trump put an end to a wave of online speculation about his death this week by making a public appearance on Saturday morning. The unfounded rumors, which gained significant traction on social media, were fueled by his brief absence from the public eye. The speculation intensified after the White House released a blank schedule for the Labor Day weekend, leading to hashtags like “#TrumpIsDead” and “#WhereIsTrump” trending on X (formerly Twitter) from Friday night into Saturday.
The social media frenzy was finally laid to rest when Trump was photographed at the White House around 8:45 a.m. Dressed in a white polo shirt, black pants, and his signature red MAGA hat, he was seen with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, and grandson, Spencer Frederick Trump, as they prepared to depart for his golf club in Sterling, Virginia.
While he was not seen by White House reporters on Friday, the president had been active on his Truth Social platform, where he posted a response to a federal appeals court ruling concerning his trade policies. “ALL TARIFFS ARE STILL IN EFFECT!” he wrote, decrying the court’s decision.
Further dispelling the conspiracy theories, Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese posted on X, “I wake up to see people freaking out that Trump’s sick or dead or something because he hasn’t been seen in a few days. I was with the president yesterday afternoon. I interviewed him for an hour.”
