Elon Musk Says His Posts on Trump ‘Went Too Far’ After Public Feud
Tech billionaire Elon Musk on Wednesday made a surprising admission, expressing regret over some of his recent social media posts targeting United States President Donald Trump. The public apology comes after a week of heated exchanges that saw Musk make serious allegations and Trump issue a stern warning in response.
In a concise post on his social media platform X on June 11, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO wrote, “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”
The apology follows a public feud that erupted last week after Musk stepped down from a government advisory role and criticized a new tax bill proposed by the Republican party. The war of words escalated across social media and television interviews.
In one of his most controversial posts, Musk alleged a potential connection between Donald Trump and the infamous Epstein list, suggesting this might be why related government files have not been made public. This unsubstantiated claim drew significant attention and criticism.
The feud intensified when President Trump, in an interview with NBC News, warned Musk of “very serious consequences” if the billionaire proceeded with plans to financially support primary challengers against incumbent Republican lawmakers.
“He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” Trump told the news channel, making it clear he had no intention of reconciling with the tech mogul. Musk’s subsequent post expressing regret appears to be an attempt to de-escalate the high-profile conflict.
