In a significant development for international relations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced a new slogan, “Make India Great Again” (MIGA), inspired by President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” (MAGA). This blend of slogans was unveiled during their recent bilateral meeting at the White House, setting the stage for what PM Modi described as a “mega partnership for prosperity.”
PM Modi highlighted that the combined spirit of MAGA and MIGA elevates the India-US relationship, giving it a new scale and scope. He pointed out that while America focuses on its greatness, India too is on a path to become ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, emphasizing heritage, development, and rapid progress.
One of the key outcomes of this meeting was setting an ambitious target for bilateral trade. The leaders agreed to aim for a trade volume of USD 500 billion by 2030, more than doubling the current figures. “Our teams will work on finalising a very beneficial trade agreement soon,” Modi stated, signaling an intent towards economic enhancement.
The dialogue also covered critical areas like energy security, where the US aims to play a pivotal role in ensuring India’s needs are met through increased oil and gas trade. Additionally, discussions on nuclear energy cooperation, particularly in small modular reactors, were highlighted as steps towards sustainable development and defense preparedness.
