Patna Horror: Burnt Bodies of 2 Minor Siblings Found at Home

A horrific incident has sent shockwaves through a village near Patna, Bihar, after the burnt bodies of two minor siblings, a 15-year-old girl and her 10-year-old brother, were discovered inside their home. The family has alleged that the children were murdered before being set on fire, prompting a major police investigation.
The victims have been identified as Anjali Kumari, 15, and Anshul Kumar, 10. Their bodies were found inside a room in their house by their mother, who returned home from work to the devastating scene. The children’s father, Lallan Gupta, an employee at the local election office, strongly suspects foul play.
“There were two to three men seen near the house,” Gupta told reporters. He argued that if it had been an accidental fire, his children would have tried to escape. “They were burnt after they were killed. If it was an accident, the boys would have run for their lives and could have even opened the door, but there was no such effort from their side, which proves that someone first killed them and then burnt their bodies,” he said.
Chaotic and emotional scenes unfolded at the location as grieving family members and hundreds of villagers gathered. A visibly distraught Gupta demanded swift justice, saying, “I want to burn them (culprits) alive. The police should catch them today itself.” The family also expressed frustration with the pace of the police investigation, alleging a lack of urgency.
Police have confirmed the recovery of two burnt bodies and have launched a comprehensive investigation. While not yet confirming a criminal angle, senior police officials stated they are treating the family’s murder allegations seriously and investigating from all possible angles. “This is a case of murder. However, it is a matter of investigation whether both were burnt after the murder or were killed after being burnt,” said Patna City SP West, Bhanu Pratap Singh. He suggested that someone close to the family could be involved.
To aid the investigation, a forensic team and a dog squad have been deployed to collect evidence from the scene. Police are waiting to take a formal statement from the grieving family but have assured that any information provided will be pursued
