UAE, Japan Back India’s Global Campaign Against Terrorism After Operation Sindoor

In a significant boost to India’s global diplomatic campaign against terrorism, the United Arab Emirates and Japan have extended strong support to New Delhi following Operation Sindoor, a military response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

As part of India’s international outreach mission, the first of seven multi-party delegations reached the UAE and Japan on Thursday. The delegations, led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde and JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha, met with senior officials in both countries to present India’s case against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

During the meetings, UAE officials expressed their solidarity with India’s anti-terror stance and emphasised that “Islam does not teach the killing of innocent civilians.” Meanwhile, Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya voiced full support, stating, “In this fight against terrorism, Japan stands with India.”

In Abu Dhabi, the Indian team led by MP Shrikant Shinde met UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan. The group included leaders across party lines such as Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Manan Kumar Mishra, IUML’s ET Mohammed Basheer, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, BJP’s SS Ahluwalia, and former diplomat Sujan Chinoy.

The delegation held multiple rounds of talks with UAE parliamentary colleagues, briefing them on Pakistan’s alleged role in fostering terrorism. Sources revealed that both sides discussed long-term collaboration to tackle extremism and safeguard regional peace.

In Tokyo, JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha led a similar mission. Japanese officials conveyed their full diplomatic backing to India’s global anti-terror push, as both nations reaffirmed their strategic partnership in security and counter-terrorism.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reinforced India’s firm stance during an address on Thursday, stating: “Operation Sindoor will continue if there is another Pahalgam-like attack. India will respond directly to eliminate threats across the border.”

In his first public rally since the retaliatory strikes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared from Bikaner: “Pakistan cannot win in a direct fight with India. Hence, it uses terrorism as a weapon. But this drama won’t work anymore. The world is being shown Pakistan’s real face.”

He also added that India’s seven global delegations would continue exposing Pakistan’s role in international forums.

Operation Sindoor was India’s rapid response to the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, which claimed 26 lives. India claimed to have struck terrorist launchpads within minutes of the assault.

The multi-nation outreach, involving MPs from across political parties, aims to strengthen international opinion against terrorism and increase pressure on Pakistan diplomatically.
