US House Speaker Backs India’s Anti-Terror Efforts, Assures Support With Resources
US House Speaker Mike Johnson has pledged energy and resource support to India in its battle against terrorism, days after the Pahalgam terror attack shook the nation.
In a strong diplomatic signal, US House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that the Trump administration stands firmly with India in its fight against terrorism. “India has to stand against terrorism. We will do everything possible to support those efforts,” Johnson said. “Trump administration will help India with energy and resources to fight terrorism,” he added.
This statement comes in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed several lives and escalated tensions in the Kashmir Valley.
In response to the terror strike, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has granted Indian armed forces full operational freedom to determine the timing, mode, and target of any countermeasures. The move reflects India’s aggressive posture in countering cross-border terrorism and its intent to respond decisively.
Meanwhile, a closed-door session of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), convened at Pakistan’s request, did not yield the support Islamabad had hoped for. According to diplomatic sources, UNSC members raised serious concerns about the involvement of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the Pahalgam attack.
The Council reportedly pushed back on Pakistan’s claim that the attack was a “false flag” operation by India. The Indian delegation stated that Pakistan is misusing its current non-permanent membership and its upcoming UNSC chairmanship to divert global attention from its own role in harboring terror groups.
India’s diplomatic corps has been actively briefing international partners about Pakistan’s alleged links to the attack. According to officials, efforts are underway to isolate Islamabad diplomatically and seek coordinated action against LeT and other UN-designated terror entities operating from Pakistani soil.
With international support rallying around India, especially from key allies like the United States, New Delhi is expected to intensify diplomatic and military measures against cross-border terrorism.
